To train current massage therapists, bodyworkers, somatic therapist, and ANYONE else who wishes to learn how to administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation, safely and correctly apply an automated external defibrillator during emergency situations, and administer first aid if needed.
The American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner.
Students should wear comfortable and loose fitting clothing. A notebook and writing instrument is necessary. Any other material needed will be supplied to you.
All reading will be assigned and discussed during class time.
Attendance is required for the entire course to receive certification. At completion of the course a written exam will be administered. Certification is only available for those who take the entire course and pass the written exam.
